A HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) spray system is great for spraying a variety of finishes. For snowboards, I use a Fuji Q3 Pro HVLP sprayer, shooting System Three WR-LPU Polyurethane Topcoat, in clear satin, cut 20-25% w/ water. This applies a smooth, even coat of finish to the board with minimal mess and cleanup. The gun is easy to use and get familiar with, and the spray pattern is easily adjustable.
